Volunteer Amy Hallows raises a whopping £544 for Dial!

Amy hard at work training for the big run!

In 2017, Amy Hallows volunteered with Dial West Cheshire which sparked her interest in the work that we do for the people of our own community. Fast forward to 2018 and that interest blossomed into a desire to help us raise valuable funds to run our services.

Amy had never run any real distance before, but she took the challenge upon herself to run the Chester half marathon. We kept in touch throughout her hard training, all of us here in complete awe of the challenge she seemed to be taking so easily in stride.

On the day itself, Amy was ready to go and we were on tenterhooks on the side line to cheer her on.  Her hard work and training paid off, Amy completed the half Marathon in an impressive 2 hours and 29 minutes.  Now if that wasn’t impressive enough, Amy went on to raise an awe-inspiring £544 for Dial West Cheshire.

This funding will go a long way in helping us to continue to provide the valuable services that we do to the people of our own community.  We would like to say a great big heartfelt thank you to Amy for choosing us, working so incredibly hard to complete such a huge challenge and for raising these valuable funds.

We are always looking for ways of raising funds, as a largely volunteer-led team, we simply could not continue to provide our services without fundraising.  If you think you would like to take on a challenge and cross something off your bucket list while making a real difference for the people who use our services, get in touch with our fundraising team who would love to hear from you and work with you to achieve your goal!
