Community Energiser: Part time (18.5 hours per week), Dial House, Chester.

(Currently funded until 31st March 2020)

Salary: National Living Wage

New Leaf is a Building Better Opportunities project funded by the by European Social Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund. It is an innovative project, targeting individuals furthest away from the labour market in the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) area, to help them in their journey towards employment.

Led by Warrington-based Torus Foundation, working in partnership with other organisations across the area, New Leaf will support more than 3,000 individuals over a three year period, providing a tailored service, giving individual support and direction.

The New Leaf Community Energiser will work with the Dial New Leaf team to provide administrative and beneficiary support to ensure the project meets its objectives. Computer literacy and a good standard of English are required. Previous experience of working in a customer focused environment and/or the voluntary sector is advantageous

Volunteers

Volunteers might want to develop skills confidence and/or employment prospects or simply help the community. We develop people from the community to help others within the community by offering a friendly, supportive and well managed volunteer scheme with extensive opportunities for training and development.

Volunteers help us deliver our services (eg Community Cafe, Disability Information & Advice, Shopmobility and Volunteering & Learning). Volunteer roles and opportunities for training include kitchen assistants and cooks, receptionists, disability rights advisers and form-fillers, Shopmobility assistants, shopping helpers and mobility equipment technicians. Volunteers also fulfill vital support functions such as directors/trustees, ICT, marketing & communications and administration, and we are always keen to hear from people who will volunteer to help with one off fundraising activities and events.

Community Cafe Volunteers

  • We have various volunteer shifts available Monday – Friday, hours would depend on your availability
  • Experience is not necessary as full training will be given, we are looking for people willing and able to learn
  • Tasks would include some or all of the following; Kitchen prep, money handling and operating the till, washing up, preparing drinks, baking, serving tables and cleaning tables

Voluntary Marketing Assistant

This is a voluntary role ideally suited to someone with an interest in one day undertaking a paid marketing role and looking to expand their skills on their CV.

The marketing assistant will help to implement Dial West Cheshire’s marketing strategy. Supporting the marketing manager, the role of the marketing assistant will include, but not be limited to, drafting press releases, updating the website and social media pages, planning events and providing administrative support.

Fundraising Events Volunteers

As a largely volunteer-led charity, we are always fundraising and organising exciting events to d0 this.  We run a wide variety of events from family fun days in the park and concerts to bingo evenings and sponsored inclusive walks.  We need volunteers to help set up and take down, run the events themselves and to sell tickets or help to raise awareness in the lead up to the event.
