Dial West Cheshire is a thriving local charity that has been providing services and support to disabled people and older people since 1986. Here at Dial West Cheshire we develop people from the community to help others within the community by offering a friendly, supportive and well managed volunteer scheme which includes extensive opportunities for training and development.
Volunteers might want to develop skills confidence and/or employment prospects or simply help the community. Whatever it is, we will have a role for you. We depend heavily on volunteers to help us deliver our services such as the Community Café, Disability Information & Advice, Shopmobility and Volunteering & Learning. Therefore we treasure our kind and loyal volunteers that contribute their experience, time and energy to help improve the lives of disabled peoples.
We are proud holders of The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the MBE for volunteer groups. Approximately 70% of our workforce has a disability or long term health condition.
Dial West Cheshire’s services are primarily delivered by volunteers supported by a small team of paid staff. We encourage people with disabilities and long term health conditions to volunteer and work with us.
Volunteering is a great way to give back to your local community, whilst making a difference to the lives of others and even yourself.
Whilst volunteering for Dial West Cheshire you can expect to:
- Gain confidence and self-esteem
- Gain new skills, knowledge and experience
- Develop existing skills and knowledge
- Have a chance to socialise, meet new people and make new friends
- Enhance your CV
- Be part of a great team!
We offer our volunteers training, support and payment of expenses.
