Improving the Lives of Disabled People

Shopmobility

The DIAL West Cheshire Shopmobility Service, conveniently located in the Kaleyards (blue-badge) car park off Frodsham Street in Chester city centre, provides daily hire of mobility scooters and wheelchairs to enable people with mobility difficulties to access city centre shops and facilities. Open Monday to Saturday: 9.30am – 4.30pm and Sunday: 10.30am – 3.30pm.

We offer the longer term loan of wheelchairs at weekly rates. Mobility aids and disability equipment are also available for sale. Let us look after the servicing or repair of your own equipment at competitive prices.

Together with our Shopmobility West Cheshire partners (DICE Ltd in Ellesmere Port and Vale Royal Disability Services in Northwich and Winsford) we offer a membership scheme for regular Shopmobility customers or alternative charges for visitors, enabling use of shopmobility services at four locations across the Cheshire West and Chester area.

Availability of equipment is subject to servicing, repairs and/or demand. Advance booking is recommended (tel: 01244 312626 or click here for our on-line enquiry form).

Shopmobility West Cheshire fees (July 2016):

Annual membership
Cheshire West and Chester residents £20.00
Non-Cheshire West & Chester residents £25.00
Daily hire
Members £2.00
Non-members £7.50
Weekly, longer term hire
e.g. wheelchairs (restrictions apply) £10.00

Use of the service is subject to registration together with sight of two forms of identification. All customers will be given instruction in the safe use of equipment and must demonstrate their competence to use such equipment. We reserve the right to decline the hire of equipment or to request evidence from a general practitioner (GP), optician or other qualified assessor about a customer’s ability to operate mobility equipment safely.
