New Leaf: Celebrating our Participants

Alison sharing her story

On January 28th, our New Leaf mentors and participants all gathered excitedly with other New Leaf providers and participants from Cheshire West in Chester Racecourse for an afternoon of celebration.

It truly was a great day bringing together participants and mentors, celebrating the work they had completed together to really change lives.

Over the course of the project, New Leaf aims to support a minimum of 2,800 residents across Cheshire closer or into employment.

It is designed to boost confidence and unlock potential by providing training, developing skills and giving opportunities to improve personal aspirations.

New Leaf brings together a diverse range of 30 partners from across Warrington and Cheshire, including local authorities, learning providers, charities, social landlords, disability support networks to change lives, create opportunities and make a positive contribution to the local communities and the regional economy.

Our participant, Alison, bravely stood up with her mentor, Helen, and told everyone about how New Leaf had made such a great impact on her life. It was her first time public speaking and we really are so very proud of Alison.

Geoff sharing his story

We also had another story from Dial West Cheshire shared at the event, our new Shopmobility supervisor, Geoff. He came to us through the New Leaf scheme from another provider and has ended his story in paid employment with us.
