Dial was delighted to accept an invitation to participate in the Kaleidoscope Festival held at Storyhouse in Chester during September. The festival was a week-long event aimed at celebrating disability and challenging stereotypes.
We joined a number of other local community groups to participate in the festival, which also featured a variety of artistic performances and workshops on topics relevant to disabled people. As part of the programme our very own Jo Swift gave a talk on how, as a wheelchair user, she keeps fit using an adapted trike – and undertook a fundraising half marathon in aid of Dial earlier this summer.
Many of the people we met were not aware of the range of information/advice and services that Dial offers, which made it a great opportunity to spread the message a little further. We also got interviewed for local radio. Did you get to hear the broadcast?
Kaleidoscope grew from a one day event in 2017 to one week in 2018. Bring on 2019!
