Improving the lives of Disabled People
Building Better Opportunities
Dial West Cheshire is part of a Cheshire wide project aimed to help individuals in the area, achieve their personal goals through mentoring, volunteering and learning. Income maximization is also on offer as part of this innovative project.
Over the next three years, the New Leaf project aims to support a minimum of 2,800 residents across Cheshire closer or into employment.
It is designed to boost confidence and unlock potential by providing training, developing skills and giving opportunities to improve personal aspirations.
New Leaf brings together a diverse range of 30 partners from across Warrington and Cheshire, including local authorities, learning providers, charities, social landlords, disability support networks to change lives, create opportunities and make a positive contribution to the local communities and the regional economy.
Management and Funding
The project spearheaded by Golden Gates Housing Trust (GGHT), part of NW housing group Torus, has received £10.6 million of funding from the Building Better Opportunities programme, a key part of the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership’s (LEP) European Funding Programme. The scheme sees the Big Lottery Fund matching funds from European Social Fund (ESF) 2014-2020, to provide joint investment in local projects that stimulates economic development by investing in projects which will support skills development, employment and job creation, social inclusion and local community regeneration.
