As Chester Golf Club’s chosen charity of the year, we were invited to support a fantastic fundraising event in our honour recently.
A team of our volunteers went along to the Captain’s Charity Day brandishing fairy cakes a plenty to serve to the deserving golfers when they reached the halfway house. It was a beautiful sunny day and we met lots of hungry and thirsty golfers enjoying the beautiful scenery afforded to the club.
As the sun set on a successful day of golf, our team members put on their finest and headed down to the club house for a fabulous evening of dinner and dancing, complete with an ABBA tribute band! It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and a lovely opportunity for our team to meet the generous members who have given so much to the charity already and we’re only half way through the year!
The whole day raised an astounding £4750 for Dial West Cheshire! A sum we still can’t quite fathom how it was raised in the one day. We are utterly humbled by the generosity of the club’s members and their affection for our charity and the work that we do.
We are really looking forward to our continued work with Chester Golf Club over the next few months, it really is a pleasure to have such a kind and giving association supporting us.
It is valuable donations like these that enable our largely volunteer-led organisation to do the valuable work it does for disabled people in our community.
We are always looking for more ways to fundraise. If you think your organisation would like to select us as charity of the year or hold a fundraising event, please get in touch with our fundraising team and we can work with you to create something spectacular.
